  • Jazz in the Park - Dirty Dozen Brass Band: May 10
    Dirty Dozen Brass Band will bring a little of New Orleans to the stage at the Clark County Amphitheater, 500 S. Grand Central Pkwy. Starting its 18th year, the free Jazz in the Park concert series has become a Las Vegas tradition. Some of the biggest names in jazz have highlighted our annual concert series. Picnics, blankets and low back chairs are welcome. Food and drink are also available for purchase on site. Seating starts at 7pm, concert start at 8pm. No pets allowed. Free.
  • San Gennaro Feast: May 7 - 11
    Grand Canyon Shopping Center, West Flamingo Road west of Las Vegas Beltway; 227-0295. Featuring Italian food and music, more than 60 amusement rides, games, pony rides, a petting zoo, a slingshot thrill ride, arts and crafts and a beer and wine garden. 4-11 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, 4 p.m.-midnight Friday, 11 a.m.-midnight Saturday and 11 a.m.-11 p.m. Sunday, opening night moms ride free on carnival rides and a fireworks show will be at 9 p.m., $6-$7, children 54 inches and under are free.
  • Second Annual Get Movin’ Walk: May 17
    As part of the continuing effort to get Las Vegas residents into shape, the public is invited to join Mayor Oscar B. Goodman in his quest to increase the livability of our great city at the second annual Get Movin’ with Mayor Oscar B. Goodman Healthy Lifestyle Walk on Saturday, May 17, at 8 a.m. at the Charlie Kellogg and Joe Zaher Sports Complex, located at 7901 W. Washington Ave. Participants can start their day with an invigorating one- or two-mile walk and stay for a fun day in the park at the Sports Fest.   • Newly Remodeled Chuck Minker Sports Complex Offers Wide Variety of Options
    The city of Las Vegas' newly remodeled Chuck Minker Sports Complex offers a variety of low-cost sports and fitness options. Minker regularly offers basketball league play for adults and over-30 adults; coed racquetball leagues; volleyball leagues for men and women; yoga and group fitness classes; and shotokan and tae kwon do martial arts classes for ages 5 to adult. The center is located at 275 North Mojave Road, at the southwest corner of East Stewart Avenue and Mojave Road.
